Emily Banks

Name: Trevor Brown

Major: junior in construction engineering

Activities on campus: peer mentor, building manager at the Memorial Union, Sigma Lambda Chi

Qualifications: Serves as an off-campus senator; will be living in Campustown, so reaching people will be easy.

Representing constituency: Work on being “transparent” in the community and trying to reach as many people as possible.

Handling Campustown plans: “The buildings are old, so something needs to be done sooner or later.” Brown thinks the focus should be on what is going to happen, not when. “The students need to voice their opinions, otherwise the university gets to make all of the decisions,” Brown said.

Addressing student debt: Working to help make the “university run more efficiently, not just raise tuition.” Encouraging students to take part in events like Regent’s Day so their voice is heard.

Improving what the current senator is doing: Reaching out to the residents, getting more input, “amplifying their voice.”
