Schroll remains sidelined with concussion

ISU coach Bill Fennelly said Thursday that, “barring a miracle,” sophomore guard Jessica Schroll will not play against No. 6 Texas A&M on Saturday. Schroll will miss her second consecutive game after hitting her head on the floor following a collision with a Nebraska player Jan. 12.

“She keeps getting evaluated, and she’s making progress, but it’s one of those vague things that only happen with a concussion,” Fennelly said.

The Midland, Mich., native is averaging 3.3 points per game in her 18.1 minutes per game this season.

“She’s improving, but not to the point where she’s able to play,” Fennelly said.

Known as one of the toughest players on the team, Schroll played in all 33 games as a freshman and started in nine games this season before the injury.
