Iowa State Business Week begins

Business Week committee members made sure the event included more this year than ever before — including days.

The 12-day event will provide students in the College of Business the opportunity to make new connections and meet each other and faculty members with various scheduled outings, activities and speakers.

“[Business Week] gives students a chance to meet and mingle with employers outside of the business setting,” said Matt Allbee, Business Week co-chairman and junior in accounting. “There were various scheduling conflicts, like the away football game in Kansas City, which students would be out of town for, so we extended the dates of this year’s event.”

Returning to Business Week’s lineup this year is the tailgate event, which will be for the home game against UNI on Sept. 25. The event hasn’t been included in the last couple years, but was successful in the past, so committee members decided to bring it back, Allbee said.

Anybody is welcome to attend Business Week events, but the etiquette dinner and golf tournament will cost $10 for students outside of the College of Business.
