ISU wrestler Andrew Long has been dismissed Wednesday from the team for multiple violations of team rules.

Long competed at 125 pounds for the Cyclones in 2009-2010.

“I have met with Andrew and informed him of our decision that he is no longer part of the [ISU] wrestling program,” ISU coach Kevin Jackson said. “We have had previous discussions, and Andrew understood what kind of conduct is expected of an [ISU] student athlete. I deeply regret that this decision was necessary.”

Long advanced to the NCAA championship match at 125 pounds and compiled a 27-7 record as a redshirt freshman last season.
