Boston Brass bring music to Ames this weekend

Musical group Boston Brass perform Friday at Stephens Auditorium in Ames.

Together for almost 25 years, Boston Brass uses a number of instruments from the brass family to entertain audiences.

From jazz to classical, and with some humor, this five-man group has played in 49 states, 21 countries and mixture of jazz festivals and concerts since its inception.

In addition to their many performances, Boston Brass has made appearances on CBS’s “The Early Show” and helped raise $100,000 for VH1’s Save the Music Program to support music in schools.

The musical group is composed of Chris Castellanos on the horn, Jeff Conner on the trumpet, Lance LaDuke on the trombone, Jose Sibaja on the trumpet and Andrew Hitz on the tuba.
