California soul/punk band Cold War Kids will perform at the 2010 10,000 Hours Show on April 9 in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union in Ames.

The band, formed in 2004, has released two albums – “Robbers & Cowards” and “Loyalty to Loyalty” – and is mostly known for its song “Hang Me Up to Dry.” Cold War Kids has performed at Lollapalooza three times and toured with bands such as Death Cab For Cutie, Muse and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah.

The 10,000 Hours Show is a student-led outreach to recruit young volunteers who serve local nonprofit organizations. The concert is free as the reward for those who volunteer.

10,000 Hours began in 2004 at the University of Iowa.
