UPDATE: Snowfall leads to collisions, CyRide service suspension

The first snowfall of the season temporarily suspended CyRide service and led to several car collisions around Ames and campus early Thursday evening.

CyRide determined that at the time that it was not safe for buses to travel due to road conditions, according to a recording on the CyRide information phone line earlier in the evening.

All CyRide routes were back up and running by 8:30 p.m., according to CyRide’s Twitter page.

ISU Police responded to several collisions Thursday evening, including two three-car collisions on Union Drive near the intersection with Wallace Road.

No injuries were reported in the two collisions.

ISU Police blocked off the hill on Union Drive where the collisions occurred.

Another collision was reported on 13th Street and Stange Road.
