SOCCER: Texas Tech holds Iowa State scoreless

David Merrill

The Red Raiders of Texas Tech gave the Cyclones a dose of dejavu Friday night, handing them a 2-0 loss—the same score the Red Raiders beat the Cyclones by last season in Ames.

This marks the third straight game that the Cyclones have been kept off the scoresheet.

Texas Tech found goals from freshman Dawn Ward in the 20th minute and Conner Williams in the 30th minute. Ward continues to lead the Red Raiders in goals, with her total up to eight now on the season.

Texas Tech was able to take advantage of their 12-8 advantage on shots. Jordan Bishop was the only Cyclone to record a shot on goal, hitting it off the crossbar, while the Red Raiders recorded four shots on goal.

Gleason made two saves in the net for the Cyclones while her counterpart recorded one.

The Cyclones take their 4-2-4 record to Boulder, Col. for a showdown with the Buffaloes on Sunday.
