Name released of man who fell out of Legacy Towers

Lukas Ashbrook, 19, fell from the fourth-floor balcony on the south side of Legacy Towers, 119 Stanton Ave., at about 6:10 p.m. Saturday, according to an Ames police press release.

Ames Police Lt. Geoff Huff said Ashbrook was concious but said he did not know the extent of the his injuries. Huff said the Ashbrook was taken to Mary Greeley Medical Center, 1111 Duff Ave., for treatment.

Ashbrook is an Iowa Central Community College student.

Huff said at this time it is unknown if Ashbrook had consumed alcohol before he fell.

Ashbrook reportedly climbed over the balcony guard rail and jumped from the balcony of apartment 412.

When police arrived, Ashbrook was on the ground being attended to by a passerby and emergency responders, according to the release.
