TENNIS: Iowa State snaps 79 game skid

Daily Staff

Despite losing three out of four matches last week, the ISU tennis team’s lone win during spring break turned out to be an important milestone.

For the first time since 2002, the Cyclones captured a conference victory with a 4-3 defeat of Kansas State on March 13. Iowa State entered the match having not recorded a Big 12 win in 79 tries.

The Cyclones were unable to maintain the winning momentum as the team lost its next three matches (Kansas, 2-5, Baylor, 0-7, Texas Tech, 1-6).

Iowa State now holds a 8-6 overall record and a 1-4 mark in the Big 12. Up next for the Cyclones is a home match against Texas on March 27.
