Same-sex marriage ban to be reviewed by Iowa Supreme Court

The Iowa Supreme Court will hear oral arguments regarding the ban on gay marriage Tuesday.

Judge Robert Hanson ruled last year that a ban on same-sex marriage was unconstitutional. The brief window was only long enough for one couple to marry before the ruling was stayed. The case has been appealed to the Iowa Supreme Court.

LGBT advocacy organization One Iowa is sponsoring a number of watch parties across the state. One will be held in the Gallery Room of the Memorial Union from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
