W BASKETBALL: Cyclones shuffle their lineup against Griffons

Heather Ezell had 12 points, six steals and five rebounds in the game, while Nicky Wieben finished the game with 11 points and eight rebounds. Freshmen point guards Alexis Yackley and Whitney Williams combined for eight assists and committed just one turnover.

The Griffons were 12-15 last year and 7-11 in the Midwest Intercollegiate Athletics Association conference. Missouri Western State played Iowa in exhibition play last season and lost 79-56.

The starting lineup may change for this game, with exhibition games giving coach Bill Fennelly the chance to try different combinations of players. Yackley, Ezell, Kelsey Bolte, Amanda Nisleit and Wieben started against Buena Vista.

Listed as starters for Sunday on the pregame notes are Ezell, Bolte, Alison Lacey, Nisleit and Wieben.

The Cyclones are receiving the third-most votes of teams, outside of the recently released preseason Top 25 polls.

Iowa State will starts its regular season next Sunday with a home against the UMKC Kangaroos.
