TISINGER: I support… …none of the above.

Sarah Tisinger

“I may have said the same thing before … but my explanation, I am sure, will always be different,” is a quote of Oscar Wilde. Despite many arguments, the fact I registered to vote since my last column and a phone call from my upset mother, I am pretty certain that I am sticking with my decision not to vote.

Originally, I was a strong Obama supporter. Once I discovered I am stuck in complete political ignorance, I tried to educate myself on the candidates’ issues, only to become completely bombarded with ridiculously rabid ads endorsed by the candidates themselves. I tried to stick just to the facts, but those ads are hard to get away from. I have seen things that I like and dislike about both major candidates.

I found that I don’t particularly care either way and haven’t a clue about the third party candidates. I feel I would be wasting my ignorant vote as I now feel that either party will be just as good as the other and I realize I don’t have a right to complain about the chosen candidate, despite Carlin’s hilarious views. Of course I might have a problem with single issues, but I would, no matter who gets chosen.

Many say that all women should vote as we have only been given this right not too long ago, but a woman’s ignorant vote is still just an ignorant vote. I urge everyone who is educated on the topic to go out and vote and hope that those aren’t either start listening to the issues or stay home.
