Senior Sydney Ronald dives into Beyer Pool on Jan. 18. The Iowa State women’s Swimming and Diving team won against Illinois State University with 191-100.

As the 2019 Big 12 Championship came to a close last weekend, senior diver Sydney Ronald and junior Dana Liva both headed back to Austin, Texas for the NCAA Zone D Diving Championship this week. 

Liva qualified for all three events, the three-meter, one-meter and platform dive whereas Ronald competed in both the three-meter and one-meter. 

Day one of the event saw both Liva and Ronald compete in the three-meter dive as Liva posted a score of 233.15 while Ronald posted a 260.70. After day one Ronald placed 34th for the event as Liva placed 46th.

On day two of the Zone D Championship, both divers competed in the one-meter in which Ronald earned a score of 232.90 as Liva finished with 235.60. Liva’s performance saw her finish 29th for the event with Ronald finishing 32nd.

Liva then finished 19th on day three on the platform with a score 211.35.
