The Inter-Residence Hall Association will consider a bill that would help fund the ISU lectures program.

WWE wrestler Mick Foley will be on campus at 8 p.m. Oct. 29 in Stephens Auditorium to speak about his careers in writing and wrestling entertainment.

Former Black Flag and Rollins Band singer Henry Rollins, also known for his spoken word performances and lectures, will return to campus at 8 p.m. Nov. 19.

A bill requesting $500 from IRHA to help fund both events will be discussed at the meeting.

“Speakers are generally given free reign over what they wish to discuss,” said Drew Larson, Union Drive Association treasurer and author of the bill.

“Rollins and Foley are both expected to be very entertaining and funny.”

Also at the meeting, members of IRHA’s academic affairs committee will request $1,000 for scholarships supported by the organization.

Two students will receive a scholarship in the amount of $500 this year, said Dan Burke, representative for Barton, Lyon, Freeman and Fisher-Nickell Halls.

The exact criteria for scholarship eligibility has not been determined, but that students would be required to have a GPA of approximately 3.0, which would exclude transfer students and freshmen.

Students who apply also need to be involved with student government in some way, he said.

Students will be required to live in the residence halls in order to be eligible for the scholarships.

A bill requesting funding for a casino night for Res Hall Week will also be presented.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Gallery Room of the Memorial Union.
