Sophomore ISU men’s golfer Tyler Swanson carded a second straight round of even-par 71 Friday to advance to the third and fourth rounds of the John Deere Classic, a PGA Tour event, in Silvis, Ill.

Saturday’s play was postponed because of rain. The third round will begin at 7 a.m. Sunday, and all golfers will play 36 holes to complete the tournament.

The cut line on Friday was even par, and Swanson stayed in contention to make the cut with two birdies on the back nine. After eagling the par-5 17th hole in Thursday’s opening round, Swanson scored a birdie on the 17th Friday to pull back to even par for the tournament.

J.L. Lewis leads the tournament through two rounds with a score of 12 under par. Swanson is tied for 55th place.
