ISU Police are investigating a possible fraud involving an ISU student and her loan money.

Capt. Gene Deisinger, ISU Police, said officers are investigating the case but no charges have been filed.

“We are gathering documentation in the investigation,” Deisinger said.

He said if the investigation shows charges are appropriate, they will be filed.

Deisinger said police are also investigating whether other individuals, also ISU students, are involved in the case.

The initial investigation began Wednesday afternoon according to ISU Police logs.

Deisinger was not able to answer any additional questions about the investigation at this time.

The name of the suspected individual has also not been released. The Iowa State treasurer’s office also declined to comment at this time.
