History was made for the ISU football team at the Insight.com Bowl in Bank One Ballpark in Phoenix Thursday night.

The Cyclones won their first bowl game in the program’s history with a 37-29 victory over Pittsburgh.

“We waited over 100 years for that bowl win,” ISU head football coach Dan McCarney said. “I’m really happy for the Iowa State family. There’s a lot of things that go into a season like this and we had to overcome an awful lot, but the perserverance, toughness, and belief and to overcome the adversity this staff and team had to get here tonight is something dreams are made of.”
