Meeting places for tonight’s caucuses

Ames includes four wards, with five precincts in every ward. Terri Siguas, clerk in the Story County Auditor’s office, said students should attend caucus only at the location in their precinct. All caucuses begin at 7 p.m. tonight.

Here are the caucus locations in the precincts with the most student residents, according to Siguas:

  • Ward 2, Precinct 5 (includes University and Schilleter Villages) — Republicans, Ames High School cafeteria; Democrats, University Village Bldg. 100.
  • Ward 2, Precinct 2 (includes Hawthorn Village and Maple-Willow-Larch Halls) — Republicans, Maple Main; Democrats, M-W-L Commons Music Room.
  • Ward 4, Precinct 5 (includes Birch-Welch-Roberts, Barton-Lyon-Freeman-Fisher/Nickell, Oak-Elm and Linden Halls and the east side of campus) — Republicans, Pearson 101; Democrats, M-W-L Commons Music Room.
  • Ward 4, Precinct 3 (includes Friley Hall and areas west to Franklin Avenue, but not Helser or Westgate Halls) — Republicans, St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 209 Colorado Ave.; Democrats, ISU Memorial Union Gold Room.
  • Ward 4, Precinct 4 (includes Helser and Westgate Halls) — Republicans, Westgate Hall Lounge; Democrats, ISU Memorial Union Gold Room.
  • Ward 3, Precinct 4 (includes residences south of Lincoln Way, north of College Creek and west of Franklin Avenue) — Republicans, Ames Middle School North Cafeteria; Democrats, Ames Middle School Media Center.
  • Ward 3, Precinct 3 (includes residences near Hayward Avenue, Coconino Road and Pi¤on Drive) — Republicans, Ross 25; Democrats, University Lutheran Church Lounge, 2126 Gable Lane.
  • Ward 3, Precinct 5 (includes Towers Residence Association and residences near Little Bluestem Court) — Republicans, Storms Hall Commons; Democrats, Wallace-Wilson Conference Room.
  • Ward 3, Precinct 2 (includes the greek system south of Knapp and Greeley Streets) — Republicans and Democrats, University Lutheran Church Lounge, 2126 Gable Lane.
  • Ward 3, Precinct 1 (includes the greek system north of Knapp and Greeley Streets and residences near Big Bluestem Court, Pearson Avenue, Kildee Street, Airport Road, the Vet Med complex and the White Oak subdivision) — Republicans and Democrats, Crawford Elementary School Media Center.
