The Center for LGBTQIA+ Student Success is hosting a spa day event for the Queer and Trans People of Color initiative from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at the Sloss House.

The event is sponsored by the Center for LGBTQIA+ Student Success, International Students and Scholars Office, Margaret Sloss Center for Women and Gender Equity and the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs.

“This event is for all queer or trans students, faculty, and staff who identify as Black and/or African American, Asian and/or Asian American, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, Latinx, Native American/Alaskan Native, and/or Multiracial,” stated the Center’s website.

Activities at the event will include face masks, nail painting, movies, coloring and board games.

Hot cocoa, tea, snacks and all other supplies will be provided by the Center.

“Having affinity spaces is important because it helps students find connections on Campus,” Clare Lemke, assistant director for the Center for LGBTQIA+ Student Success said when asked about the importance about having this event.
