Redshirt sophomore 141-pounder Ian Parker — the No. 15 wrestler at his weight in the coaches’ panel — stared down a gauntlet before Friday and Sunday’s duals.

After earning victories in each dual, the Big 12 recognized Parker as the conference wrestler of the week on Monday.

To receive the honor, Parker had to go through No. 10 Dom Demas of Oklahoma, followed by No. 12 Kaid Brock of Oklahoma State.

Parker outlasted Demas, winning 4-3 in sudden victory. The 141-pounder went to Stillwater, Oklahoma, and delivered a 6-3 win over Brock.

The challenges continue for Parker moving forward. Remaining on the schedule, are potential matchups with No. 9 Matt Findlay (Utah Valley), No. 6 Josh Alber (Northern Iowa) and No. 3 Jaydin Eierman (Missouri).
