Friends and colleagues said goodbye to Clare Lemke, assistant director of The Center for LGBTQIA+ Student Success, with a farewell reception Tuesday night in the Memorial Union.

Lemke came to Iowa State University in June of 2015. Her last day at Iowa State will be Friday, where she will begin a new job as director of the LGBT Resource Center at the University of Utah in early February.

During the farewell reception, friends of Lemke went up to the podium and spoke about their time with her.

At the end of the reception, Center staff revealed a gift to Lemke in front of the audience. The gift was a barn quilt with the different flags of the LGBTQIA+ community.
