Iowa State is just getting back to full strength. On Saturday against No. 5 Kansas, the Cyclones showed the Big 12 what full strength could mean for the rest of the league.

Iowa State knocked off No. 5 Kansas, 77-60, to move to 12-2 (2-0 Big 12) and take control of the Big 12 by knocking off its top team.

Iowa State led 36-32 at halftime, thanks to big performances from redshirt senior guard Marial Shayok, redshirt junior forward Michael Jacobson and freshman guard Tyrese Haliburton.

Shayok had 13 points in the first half to lead all scorers, while Jacobson posted seven points and seven rebounds. Haliburton had a team-high +9 plus-minus and nailed a 3-pointer right before halftime to send the Cyclones into the locker room on a high note.

In the second half, Iowa State expanded its lead. The Cyclones led by as many as 19 points, hitting big threes and forcing Kansas to commit costly turnovers.

Iowa State is now 2-0 in the Big 12 and is tied for first in the league.
