Ames Police investigating armed robbery at bank on Lincoln Way, no injuries reported

The Ames Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at a bank on Lincoln Way that occurred just before 5 p.m. Friday.

A male entered U.S. Bank, located at 2546 Lincoln Way, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the clerk, according to police. No one in the bank was injured. 

The man was described as being about 5’8″ tall and wearing a black scarf covering his face, black glasses and a dark coat. He left with an undisclosed amount of money, according to police.
