Davis: Offensive Player of the Week

Iowa State sophomore running back Troy Davis was named the Big Eight’s offensive player of the week after a 183-yard rushing performance against No. 7 Kansas State on Saturday. The Wildcats boast the nation’s best overall defense.

Davis is also a Football News Offensive Player of the Year semifinalist. He currently has 1,830 yards rushing this season and needs 79 yards to become the all-time NCAA Div. I sophomore rusher, passing Lorenzo White’s (Michigan State, 1985) 1,908 total.

Cy’s Eyes winner

This week’s winner in the Cy’s Eyes picks of the week is Rob Stone. Rob correctly picked all eight games and was closest in the tiebreaker with 54 points. He can pick up his free 12-inch pizza certificate from Pizza Pit and free T-shirt from T-Galaxy at the Daily office in 108 Hamilton Hall.
