Student Body President Julia Campbell.

Welcome, fellow Cyclones, to a new academic year!

My name is Julia Campbell, and I am your Student Body President. We are so happy you’re here and wish you the best of luck as you embark on, or continue, your collegiate journey at Iowa State University. Many exciting things await us on campus this fall, and we have many things to be grateful for.

As we prepare for the upcoming year together, I am overwhelmed by the strength, resilience and creativity of the Iowa State community that has surfaced to make this academic year happen. The energy and optimism from our faculty and staff are reassuring and excite me for each of us to pursue activities that both captivate and challenge us. Whether your goal this year is to learn the ropes of campus, spend time studying in Parks Library to make the Dean’s List, prepare for an adventure abroad or obtain your dream internship, know there are many people here to support you on your journey.

Student Government seeks to support you during your time on campus by fostering an environment that encourages positive thinking, creative problem-solving and life-long learning. We are here to uplift the needs and interests of current and future generations of cyclones, focus on pertinent issues that affect the needs of our communities and help students experience personal growth through thoughtful debate, strategic thinking and project management alongside their peers.

Many groups and organizations are hard at work to support students, one of which I would like to highlight includes The Forever True, For Iowa State campaign.

The Forever True, For Iowa State Campaign met its goal of raising $1.5 billion over a nine-year period to support students on campus. This, amongst many other incredible efforts, is why we have so much to be grateful for.

From singing Sweet Caroline at Jack Trice Stadium to enjoying gelato in The Hub, you never know when you’ll make a connection that will last a lifetime. We all play a role in making Iowa State a place for everyone to call home. I wish you the best of luck and hope you enjoy your time on campus.

In Cardinal & Gold,

Julia Campbell,

Student Body President, Iowa State University
