Cyclone Hockey sweeps Central Oklahoma on the road

The No. 5 Cyclones traveled to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to face off with the No. 7 Central Oklahoma Bronchos. The Cyclones swept with the Bronchos, winning 3-1 on Friday and winning 5-3 on Saturday.

Game One

The Cyclones scored twice in the first period, with the first goal of the game coming from freshman forward C.J. Banser. The Bronchos responded with a goal, tying the game. Sophomore forward Dylan Goggin regained the lead for the Cyclones, scoring with under a minute left in the first period.

The Cyclones increased their lead with a goal from senior forward Tony Uglem in the second period, giving them the 3-1 lead.

The Cyclones held onto their lead throughout a scoreless third period, winning the game 3-1.

Game Two

The Bronchos started the game off with a goal, but a power play goal from senior forward Trevor Sabo tied it up. The Bronchos would find the back of the net again, ending the first period with a 2-1 lead.

Senior defenseman Kurt Halbach started things in the second period by tying the game up at 2-2. Despite some big saves from senior goaltender Matt Goedeke, the Bronchos scored to take a 3-2 lead.

The third period saw sophomore forward Hunter Dolan scoring to tie the game 3-3. Sabo found the back of the net for the second time in the game, giving the Cyclones a 4-3 lead. Banser would cap things off with a goal, to give the Cyclones the 5-3 lead that they would finish things with.
