Iowa State picked up its first Big 12 win of the season Saturday with a 48-42 win over No. 25 Oklahoma State.

Freshman quarterback Brock Purdy came in to replace redshirt sophomore Zeb Noland in the first quarter.

Purdy went 10-for-12 in the first half for 164 yards and two touchdowns through the air. He added 69 yards and a rushing touchdown on the ground.

Iowa State took a 30-21 lead into halftime.

The second half was much of the same. Purdy found Deshaunte Jones for a 23-yard touchdown. In the fourth quarter, with Oklahoma State down just five points, Purdy fired a deep pass over the top to Tarique Milton, who hauled in the pass and went 60 yards for the score.

Iowa State’s defense got to Oklahoma State quarterback Taylor Cornelius for seven sacks, all by different players.

Oklahoma State scored a touchdown with 56 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, but the Cyclones recovered the ensuing onside kick to pull away with the win.
