Iowa State entered the first College Football Playoff poll of the 2018 season ranked No. 24 on Tuesday.

The Cyclones have won three games in a row and haven’t lost since a 17-14 loss at TCU on Sept. 29.

Some Iowa State opponents also made the top 25. Coming in at No. 17 and No. 16 were Texas (Nov. 17) and Iowa (Sept. 8), respectively. West Virginia, who the Cyclones knocked off 30-14 on Oct. 13, is ranked No. 13 by the Playoff committee.

Lastly, the Oklahoma Sooners, who defeated Iowa State 37-27 in September, came in at No. 7.

With three losses, the Cyclones are very unlikely to contend for a bid. No team with more than one loss has made the Playoff before, dating back to 2014.
