Thanks to three straight wins — including Saturday’s 40-31 victory over Texas Tech — Iowa State received 42 votes in Sunday’s Associated Press Top 25 poll.

The Cyclones (4-3, 3-2 Big 12) finished the month of October undefeated. The same thing happened in 2017, and Iowa State entered last November ranked 14th in the nation.

With three losses, Iowa State doesn’t have the same strength of resume as most of the teams who made the Top 25.

Around the Big 12, Oklahoma, Texas and West Virginia remained in the poll. The Longhorns fell nine spots after losing to Oklahoma State 38-35 Saturday night.
