The Cyclone track and field team heads to Lubbock, Texas, to compete in the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday and Saturday.
The Cyclones had a strong showing last week to close out the regular season in Iowa City, Iowa, placing near the top or winning most of the events. No event had as good of results as the men’s 200-meter dash, in which the Cyclones placed five runners in the top seven spots.
The Cyclones will look to improve on the success they found last week in Lubbock as they start the postseason. As most would expect, the Big 12 Championship has a fairly stacked field of teams, from Texas and Oklahoma State to Houston, just to name a few.
The Cyclones have the experience versus tough teams as they have competed against multiple teams ranked in the top 10. The Cyclones have won events in those meets, they will just need to execute over the weekend.
The Big 12 Championship will begin Friday and conclude Saturday in Lubbock, Texas.
