Have you dreamed of watching an iconic film on stage? Well, get in, losers, we’re going to “Mean Girls.” The Broadway musical is making its way to Ames at 7:30 p.m. April 11 in Stephens Auditorium.
Better yet, stop by the Workspace in the basement of the Memorial Union to celebrate this exhilarating event. Drop in anytime between March 27 and April 3 (which is open from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays) and make a beaded bracelet of your favorite “Mean Girl” quote to wear to the musical.
Not only do you get to make bracelets with friends, but everyone who participates is entered into a drawing for free tickets to the show. It only costs $6 for three bracelets and is the perfect de-stressing activity after class.
Student worker Caitlyn Mahoney, a junior studying industrial design, helps with various activities in the Workspace.
“[We’re] a clay studio where people can throw on the wheel and glaze pottery…We also have a jewelry studio where people do glass beading, stained glass, make rings and pendants,” Mahoney said.
There is no lack of activity in the Workspace.
If you have never been to the Workspace, you will find it nestled in the basement of the Memorial Union, decorated from top to bottom, and it is worth checking out. Whether you’re dropping by to make a bracelet and support “Mean Girls” or taking advantage of any of the crafting opportunities, the possibilities are endless.
Tickets for “Mean Girls” can be purchased online or in person at the Stephens Auditorium ticket office Monday through Friday.
Don’t miss this chance to win a free ticket and experience a live Broadway musical here in Ames. For more information, be sure to check out the Workspace’s website.
