Editor’s note: This article was updated to include an additional news release from the Ames Police Department at 9:46 p.m. Saturday. 

The Ames Police Department has arrested a 16-year-old male in connection to a stabbing that was reported at approximately 1:35 p.m. Saturday at the 1100 block of Delaware Avenue, where officers located one male victim.

According to a city news release, the victim is being treated at a local area hospital and the status of the victim is unknown. The 16-year-old was charged with willful injury-causing serious injury, a class C felony.

The department is asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call the Ames Police Department at 515-239-5133 or the anonymous tip line at 515-239-5533.
