The 2024 general election ballot for Story County includes candidates for federal, state and local offices, along with several public measures and judicial retention votes. The candidate for Story County Sheriff is Paul H. Fitzgerald (D). The sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer for Story County and is responsible for public safety and manages the county jail.
Voters may select up to three candidates for trustees for the Story County Public Hospital:

Voters will be asked if they wish to keep several judges in office, including members of the Iowa Supreme Court, Court of Appeals and District 2B.

Question 2: Should the lieutenant governor step in the case of “the resignation, death, or permanent disability of the governor or governor-elect?”
