With the 2025 Grammy Awards just around the corner, the official nominations were released Wednesday.
This year, the Recording Academy, the organization behind the Grammy Awards, has made some adjustments to the eligibility criteria, submission guidelines and category names to promote greater integrity and inclusivity of the awards.
No new categories were added for the first time in four years, keeping the total number at 94.
Beyonce dominates this year’s Grammy nominations with 11, putting her at 99 total nominations across her career and making her the most nominated artist in Grammy history. She is followed closely by Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar and Post Malone, with seven nominations each.
Charli XCX counts in with seven nominations, all from her latest album, “Brat,” which sparked a “Brat summer” movement among Gen Z.
Taylor Swift, who last year became the first and only artist to win the category “Album of the Year” four times, received six nominations this year. She’s joined by first-time nominees Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan, who each scored six nominations as well.
Carpenter’s album “Short n’ Sweet” and Roan’s “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess” have earned them nominations across all the top general categories, also known as “The Big Four.”
The final voting round will take place Dec. 12, where all Recording Academy voting members will determine the Grammy winners across all categories.
The 67th Grammy Awards are scheduled for Feb 2. 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. It will be broadcast live on CBS and also be available for streaming on Paramount+.
