Iowa State softball had four players earn All-Big 12 postseason honors Wednesday, which ties for the most honorees in a single season with 2003 and 2022.
Freshman Jessie Clemons headlined the list, earning unanimous First Team All-Big 12 recognition. Clemons becomes the first Cyclone since Sami Williams in 2021 to earn First Team honors and the first to be a unanimous selection since 2017. She is the third Iowa State player in the Big 12 era to earn First Team honors as a freshman, joining Williams (2017) and Lindsey Herrin (2002).
Clemons led the Cyclones in batting average (.373) and doubles (13), and tied for the team lead in hits (63) and RBI (36). She ranked in the top 15 in the Big 12 in several categories, including a tie for sixth in batting average, fourth in hits and third in doubles.
Fellow freshman Sereniti Trice earned Second Team All-Big 12 honors. Trice finished second on the team in batting average (.366) and led the team in runs (44) and stolen bases (14). She also tied Clemons for the most hits (63). Trice’s performance helped solidify her place among the league’s top newcomers.
Junior Tatum Johnson also earned Second Team All-Big 12 honors after a breakout season. Johnson, who made the switch from pitcher to outfielder in 2025, slashed .354/.507/.593 and led the team in slugging and on-base percentage. Johnson’s offensive production was a key factor in Iowa State’s success throughout the season.
Iowa State also had three players — Clemons, Trice, and Karlee Ford — named to the All-Freshman Team, tied for the most by any school in the conference.
Ford, who took over the starting catcher role midway through the season, finished with seven doubles in league play and the fifth-most RBIs on the team, despite missing 16 games. Ford’s contributions were crucial to the Cyclones’ success, particularly in her first season as a full-time starter.
The Cyclones now look ahead to the Big 12 Championship, which begins at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. They will face the winner of No. 6 BYU vs. No. 11 Houston. All the action will stream live on ESPN+, with the championship game being broadcast on ESPN.
