Iowa State soccer had its first draw of the year on Friday in Denver as the match ended with a score of 0-0 with neither team showing a ton of offense.

The Cyclones move to 1-3-1.

Both teams had a number of chances, but sophomore goaltender Dayja Schwichtenberg for Iowa State, and junior goaltender Brittany Wilson performed well on both sides and were able to stop any attacks that either team had.

The first half was pretty slow as both defenses were playing well and most attacks were stifled. The Cyclones put up three shots, but none of them traveled on goal. Denver had the same amount of shots with one on goal.

In the second half, it was more of the same, as the Cyclones had a couple opportunities, but just couldn’t capitalize.

Iowa State was sent to its second overtime game of the season, and there were only a couple chances on goal.

Despite the result, it was a solid showing for the Cyclone defense and goaltending.

Iowa State plays again on Sunday in Boulder, Colorado at 1 p.m.
