Former Cyclone women’s golfer Celia Barquin Arozamena made her U.S. Women’s Open debut on Thursday, teeing off at 6:51 a.m. from Shoal Creek Golf Club in Birmingham, Alabama.

Arozamena started on the first hole, and parred her first eight holes of the day. A double-bogey on the ninth hole dropped her score to 2-over-par, and she went out with a 38.

She followed the double with a bogey on 10, dropping to 3-over-par. A birdie on the par-4 14th brought her back to +2 before back-to-back bogeys on 16 and 17 dropped Arozamena to +4.

She parred 18 to finish with a 4-over-par 76 in her first taste of an LPGA major tournament.

Arozamena is in a tie for 96th place after one round, nine shots off the three women at -5. The top 60 players and ties will make the cut after the second round.
