Coach Matt Campbell and company picked up their eighth commitment of the 2019 recruiting class on Saturday when Vonzell Kelley announced his commitment on Twitter.

Kelley, a safety from Lee’s Summit, Missouri, is the second defensive back and first safety of Iowa State’s 2019 class.

Kelley’s 247Sports composite rating is not yet available, but 247Sports has him rated as a three-star and the No. 74 safety in the nation.

The 6-foot safety reportedly held offers from Kansas and Toledo in addition to Iowa State.
