Logan Schumacher, who was nominated for Iowa’s Dan Gable Wrestler of the Year this past season and is a part of the class of 2018, committed to the Cyclones on April 13 via Twitter.

The Martensdale-St. Mary’s product recently captured the 1A gold medal at the state tournament at Wells Fargo this past year.

Schumacher will join Joel Shapiro, a fellow 182-pound state champion from West Des Moines Valley, in the Cyclones’ class of 2018.

Per IA Wrestle, Schumacher was also a 2016 Fargo All-American and finished second at state that year to Iowa State freshman Alec McDowell, who at the time wrestled for Maquoketa Valley and redshirted in his first season at Iowa State.
