The Cyclones threatened with bases loaded and two out in the bottom of the second inning. Iowa State failed to score after a questionable strike three.

In the top of the third a two-out RBI single from Janae Jefferson extended the Longhorns lead to 5-0.

In the bottom of the fourth the Cyclones finally got on board. A two-run home run from Sally Woolpert scored Nychole Antillon. Woolpert had a double in the inning before.

The Cyclones stayed hot in the fourth inning. A double from Kaylee Bosworth and then an RBI single from Jackie Chairez cut the Longhorns lead to 5-3.

Continuing to score, the Longhorns had a pitching change and replaced Erica Wright for Brooke Bolinger with two outs in the bottom of the fifth. Bolinger escaped the inning with a strikeout to Stites. The Cyclones left two stranded.

Washington hit her second home run of the game against Weilbacher in the top of the fifth. It was a solo home run to left center and it extended the Longhorns’ lead to 6-3. Savannah Sanders would enter to pitch for Weilbacher.

In the fifth inning again the Longhorns added another run after a RBI single. The score was 7-3 Longhorns.

In the top of the sixth inning the Longhorns added three more runs. A three-run home run from Kaitlyn Slack extended the Texas lead to 10-3.
