Iowa State wins final game of Houston Hilton Plaza Classic

Iowa State beats Penn State on the last day of the Hilton Plaza Classic- Cyclones 3, Nittany Lions 0
Emma Hylen got the start for the Cyclones. Hylen shined in the final day of the tournament. She pitched a complete game shutout, giving up only three hits.
In the bottom of the first inning, sophomore shortstop Sami Williams hit a leadoff solo home run to left field. It was her fourth home run of the season. The Cyclones took a 1-0 lead.
Junior second baseman Sydney Stites hit a two-run home run to left center in the bottom of the third. It was her second home run of the season to give the Cyclones the 3-0 lead.
Stites and Williams both went 2-for-3 in today’s game. Williams had two hits including one home run. Stites had a triple, a home run, and two RBIs.
The Cyclones won three games and lost two this weekend.
