6 things to see/do in Minneapolis if you’re headed to the Super Bowl

Super Bowl LII will take place on Sunday, Feb. 4 as the Philadelphia Eagles go head to head with the New England Patriots.

U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis will host the game, slightly over a three hour drive from Iowa State.

For any Cyclones who are making the journey to The North Star State, here are a few places to check out:

Minneapolis Institute of Art

Rated the #1 thing to do in Minneapolis by TripAdvisor, the Minneapolis Institute of Art has over 80,000 different pieces of artwork, ranging from many different cultures and time periods.

Admission is free daily, keeping the cost down for college students. 

Feb. 1 to Feb. 4, there will be a free ice maze open to the public.

Lands End Pasty Company

If you’re looking for some unique food at a low cost, then Lands End Pasty Company should be on your list while in Minneapolis. 

The restaurant offers British pastries at a low cost, earning it the #1 place to eat in Minneapolis on Yelp. 

Minnehaha Regional Park

Although not in its peak season, Minnehaha Regional Park is still full of beautiful sights during the winter. The park is a great place to go for a stroll and has features such as a dog park and bike paths.

Make sure to check the weather and bundle up before traveling to this attraction. 

Capital Grille

Known for their steak and American cuisine, Capital Grille is among the top rated restaurants in Minneapolis.

Capital Grille is located in the Hennepin Avenue Theatre District, making it a great opportunity for dinner and a show.

If your sweet tooth starts acting up while in Minneapolis you may want to check out this ice cream shop.

There are two different locations in Minneapolis, one on West Franklin Avenue and the other on South Upton Avenue.

Mall of America

Of course when discussing attractions in Minnesota, the Mall of America cannot be forgotten.

Although not in Minneapolis itself, the mall is located just 20 minutes away in Bloomington, Minnesota.
