Iowa State football receives commitment from 2019 quarterback

Iowa State football received a commit from 2019 quarterback Easton Dean, as first reported by 247Sports reporter Alex Halsted.

Dean — an Altamont, Kansas native — is listed at 6-foot-6 and 220 pounds. Dean is listed as a three-star prospect and the No. 11 dual-threat quarterback by 247Sports.

During Dean’s junior season at Labette County High School, Dean racked up 2,028 passing yards with 22 touchdowns and five interceptions. On the ground, Dean rushed for 455 yards and eight touchdowns.

Iowa State currently has four quarterbacks on its roster: redshirt senior Kyle Kempt, redshirt sophomore Zeb Noland, redshirt freshman Devon Moore and true freshman Re-al Mitchell.

Iowa State also received a commitment from three-star quarterback Brock Purdy on Feb. 7.
