Iowa State (10-6, 1-4 Big 12) knocked off Baylor (11-6, 1-4 Big 12) Saturday afternoon, 75-65, to win its first Big 12 game of the season.

The first half was a low-scoring affair. The two teams combined to shoot 14-of-43 from the floor in the first 12 minutes of the game, leading to a 16-16 tie at the under-8 media timeout.

Neither team hit a 3-pointer until the 6:50 mark of the first half. The two teams had combined to go 0-for-10 until that point.

Iowa State finally broke its 3-point drought late in the first half. With 3:21 to play in the first half, Lindell Wigginton nailed a 3-pointer from the top of the key.

Thirty-eight seconds later, Wigginton nailed a corner triple to give Iowa State a 4-point lead.

Wigginton nailed his third 3-pointer of the half just before the buzzer, giving Iowa State a 34-27 lead. He led all scorers with 17 points in the first half.

Iowa State opened up the second half in a tough spot.

After picking up just four fouls in the entire first half, the Cyclones recorded five fouls within the first four minutes of the second period. Both Solomon Young and Cameron Lard picked up their third fouls by the first media timeout of the second half.

Thanks to Wigginton, the Cyclones stayed in the game. He finished with a career-high 30 to lead the team.

He iced the game with a 3-pointer with 1:30 to go, giving Iowa State a seven-point lead.
