Redshirt junior 125-pounder Jonathan Marmolejo is no longer on the Iowa State wrestling team, as first reported by the Gazette’s Ben Visser.

The Cyclones are already stretched thin at the 125-pound spot. Currently, Iowa State only has one 125-pounder listed: Jakob Allison. Allison, a walk-on, had one of his best performances in his last appearance, pinning Wyoming’s Trent Olson.

Entering this season, the Cyclones listed three wrestlers at 125. The first hit to Iowa State’s 125-pound depth came on Nov. 6, when redshirt freshman Daniel Vega elected to leave the Iowa State wrestling program.

Vega and Marmolejo were suspended earlier this season during the Harold Nichols Cyclone Open.
