It was a rough first half for Iowa State as it finished its third game in six days. The Cyclones were up by one against Alcorn State at the half, but once again the cardinal and gold came out a different team to finish out the game on Sunday.

The dominant second half translated to a 78-58 win for Iowa State, extending its winning streak to seven. The biggest contributor in the game was redshirt freshman Cameron Lard who recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

The points also came from senior Donovan Jackson and freshman Lindell Wigginton. Wigginton came up with 16 points and Jackson finished with 25 points, his fifth 20-point outing of the season. Most of Jackson’s points came from the 3-point line as he went 7-for-15 from behind the arc.

Redshirt junior Nick Weiler-Babb wasn’t a big contributor in the points category with only four points, but he did help with nine assists and five rebounds.

The big question coming into this game was rebounding for Iowa State, but the Cyclones put that to rest as they outrebounded Alcorn State with a 48-24 margin.

Now, Iowa State has five days off to get healthy again and focus on finals this week. Then, the Cyclones head to Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa, to play Northern Iowa at 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 16.
