Iowa State volleyball coach Christy Johnson-Lynch is a master at sustaining a program’s success and she’s proved that in her 13 seasons coaching in Ames.

On Wednesday, Johnson-Lynch inked her most recent crop of players to maintain the success for the Cyclones. Johnson-Lynch and the Cyclones totalled four incoming players for the Class of 2018.

Taylor Baranski, Defensive Specialist

Baranski is a 5-foot-6 defensive specialist from Minooka High School in Illinois. In Baranski’s three varsity seasons for Minnoka, the defensive specialist has efficiently served at a 92.1 percent success rate, according to MaxPreps.com.

Baranski has also racked up over 1000 digs (1238), averaging 5.1 digs per set this season.

Jenna Brandt, Setter

Johnson-Lynch snagged a verbal commitment from in-state high school prospect Jenna Brandt in the summer of 2016. On Wednesday, Brandt officially signed to be a Cyclone.

Brandt attends Sumner-Fredericksburg High School in Sumner, Iowa, where she’s received two All-State setter recognitions.

Brooke Andersen, Outside Hitter

Andersen, a Wisconsin native, is the No. 37 ranked recruit in PrepVolleyball.com’s rankings. She’s been named a First-Team All-State hitter four times in her high school career.

According to MaxPreps.com, in Andersen’s senior season, the 6-foot hitter has amassed 678 kills with a .473 hitting percentage. Andersen also accounted for 245 digs in her final season of high school.

Eleanor Holthaus, Right Side

The Richmond, Minnesota, native is a two-time All-State honor recipient.

In Holthaus’s senior campaign, the 5-foot-11 right side collected 350 kills with a .406 hitting percentage and 199 digs, according to MaxPreps.com.
