Iowa State routed by Central Michigan in Junkanoo Jam championship

A day after sweating out a win against Tulane in the first round of the Junkanoo Jam in the Bahamas, the Iowa State women’s basketball team dropped the championship game 81-60 to Central Michigan. 

Once again, senior Emily Durr played a vital role for the Cyclones a day after she exploded for 19 points. Today, Durr added 12 points, five rebounds and four assists. She was also one of three Cyclones to shoot 50 percent or better from the floor. 

Iowa State struggled holding onto the ball and tallied 14 turnovers en route to also being out rebounded 43-35. After showing improvement on the offensive boards, the Cyclones dipped to just 11 offensive rebounds.

Junior Bridget Carleton led the Cyclones with 19 points, while freshman Kristin Scott posted a team-high nine rebounds. 

Iowa State shot just 20-56 from the field and went 7-21 from behind the arc. 

The loss dropped the Cyclones to 3-2 overall.
