Swimming team places third in Kansas Classic

The Cyclones finished three-day Kansas Classic in Topeka. They got third place with scoring 603 points, bested by North Texas and Kansa.

In 200 medley relay, Harper Emswiler, Kasey Roberts, Mary Kate Luddy and Laura Miksch took third with a time of 1:42.50, which was 10th-fasted 200 medley relay time in school history. In 200-yard freestyle relay, Miksch, Emswiler, Anna Andersen and Evan Hundley got the fourth place of 1: 33.92. Another relay event is 400-yard medley relay, the team was organized by Emswiler, Martha Hass, Luddy and Andersen. They took fourth with a time of 3:46.88.

Luddy performed her talents in 100-yard butterfly (55.32) and 200-yard freestyle (1:51.63). she also competed in three A finals and got second place in two of them.

Haley Ruegemer competed in four scoring finals, taking fifth in the 400-yard individual medley (4:25.51).

Miksch got fifth place in 50-yard freestyle (23.30), followed by Emswiler (12th ), Andersen (13th) and Hundley (16th).

Luddy and Ruegemer were honored as Iowa State’s representatives in the all-invite teams because of their outstanding performances.
